myPractice Live

myPractice Live gives you all the benefits of myPractice Network Edition, plus these added features:

  • You can connect from anywhere you have an Internet connection
  • Can be used by multiple offices of the same Practice Eliminates the need for you to have a Server hosting myPractice
  • Your backups are secure and held offsite
  • The myPractice team manage your Server and all updates and backups.

How does it work?
  • We set up a database dedicated to your Practice on our Servers.
  • We set up the V.P.N. (Virtual Private Network) connection on your Office computers and laptops that use myPractice.
  • When you start your computer and an Internet connection is detected, your computer will connect to the myPractice Server. You then use myPractice as if you were in your office with the Server 'next door'.
  • As you make changes, add Appointments, Client Notes etc, these changes are sent to the myPractice Servers.
  • When the other computers in your Practice synchronise with the Server, they will receive your changes.

 

What if I am somewhere that I can't get an internet connection, or the Internet connection goes down?
The myPractice application will detect that it cannot find the myPractice Server and will switch to working in 'Offline' mode. When you are in a position to connect to the Internet, any changes made whilst offline will then be synchronised with theserver and other computers in your Practice.

What about the security of my data?
Your data is transported via a VPN (Virtual Private Network), which is an encrypted connection across the Internet. Once at our servers, your data is held on a dedicated database. Databases are not shared between Practices.

What about backups?
Data is backed up every hour and historic backups held for 14 days. The data backups are encrypted and held at a seperate backup location.

Where are your servers located?
We have dedicated servers in both Sydney and Melbourne, and backups are hosted at 2 other sites. Our servers are monitored 24/7 - click the image below to view our uptime reports.

What if I already have myPractice? Can I switch to myPractice Live?
Yes. If you already have a myPractice Network Server license, we can switch you over to myPractice Live. Please contact us for details.

Ok, so what's it going to cost me?
To use myPractice Live, you need a Server License and a Client License for each computer that connects to the Server. There is a monthly fee for the myPractice Live service. This varies depending on the number of users
Server License (inc. 1 Client License) $900 (AUD)
Additional Client Licenses $595 (AUD)
myPractice Live Server Service:
1-2 users $30/mth (AUD)
3-5 users $45/mth (AUD)
Additional users $10/mth (AUD)

Do I need to have Software Assurance if I use myPractice Live?
Yes, a current Software Assurance contract is compulsory for each computer that accesses myPractice Live.
