Outstanding Balance vs. Outstanding Invoices

myPractice has 2 similar reports that give the user a picture of the money currently owed.

Outstanding Invoices: This is a list of individual Invoices that have all or part of their balance outstanding. That is, full payment has not yet been assigned to that Invoice.

Outstanding Balance: This shows the overall account status for accounts that are in debit.

Why are there 2 reports?
myPractice tracks the status of both the Overall account balance and Individual Invoice balances.

Network Edition Update Notes

There are 2 types of Network Edition updates.   Those that require a Database upgrade and those that don’t.

1 - Updates that require a Database Upgrade:

When we release a myPractice Version that moves the version number from 2.21.x to 2.22.x, the move from ‘21’ to 22’ signifies that there is a database version upgrade required.

What does this mean?

When a database upgrade is required, it means that there have been changes to the database – e.g. new fields have been added to support new functionality.

Scanning support in myPractice

Recently I posted about adding scanning and a few other productivity tasks to the Client Search screen.   Now that 2.22 is out, I thought I would expand upon that and give you some more details.

Record ‘Locking’ in myPractice

In Version 2.22 we introduced the concept of a Client Record Lock.   Note that this only applies to Network Edition users who are all located in the one office with a Direct connection to the database.  It does not apply to Solo edition users, myPractice ‘Live’ users or any Network user that utilises the Sync process. (i.e. those that occasionally work offline)

Updating myPractice – Solo Edition

The following is a step-by-step guide to updating the myPractice Solo Edition:

Sneak Peek – Contact Details Export Update

Something that many Practices need is a way to export Clients contact information for mail-outs, marketing or a multitude of other reasons.  We’ve had a rudimentary export process available, however it has had it’s shortcomings.  The next version addresses some of those.

From the Reports > Contact Details Export option, users will now see the following screen:

Sneak peek – Practice Wide Client Details Layout

One of the great features of myPractice is the ability to customise the Client History and Consultation areas to suit your particular needs.  You can add, remove and resize fields.. you can add tabs and rename existing tabs and fields to suit your data gathering needs.

Pre-purchase - Meeting expectations...

… can sometime be difficult if not impossible.
