Updating myPractice – Solo Edition
The following is a step-by-step guide to updating the myPractice Solo Edition:
- Download the file MP_Setup.exe from our Download page:

- When you click the link you will be presented with a dialog similar to this:

- Click ‘Save’ and choose the Desktop as the target:

- When the download completes, click Run, or double-click the file called MP_Setup.exe on your desktop:

- You may receive a security warning asking you to confirm that you wish to run the file. (All myPractice files are signed with the iResolveIT Ltd Security Certificate: you should always see “Publisher iResolveIT Limited” in this dialog)

- myPractice will uninstall the old version. Note: Your data and settings are preserved and are safe during this process. Click Next…

- During the uninstall process, myPractice checks eligibility and updates your license accordingly. If your Licence is found to be ineligible for an update the process will be aborted before any files are removed – leaving your existing myPractice installation intact.
- myPractice will now backup and upgrade your database:

- During this process you will see a black and white console window as the database update proceeds:

- The database update process will create a log file on your desktop called myPracticeDBUpdate.txt
- If your Database update fails, the backed up database is restored and the process is aborted. Should this occur, please email the myPracticeDBUpdate.txt file from your desktop to support@mypracticesoftware.com. It contains valuable troubleshooting information.
- Once the Database update is complete, the installation of the new version can begin… Click Next on this screen…

- Confirm that you accept the License Agreement:

- Confirm that you wish to proceed…

- The myPractice Installer will now download any other required components to update your installation…

- Completion!

After you click finish and open myPractice successfully, you can safely delete the files MP_Setup.exe and myPracticeDBUpdate.txt from your desktop.
